The structure of UFCW Local 248P

Unions are a democracy – our members run our Union. Our Union executive is elected by you to represent all members of UFCW Local 248P.

The Executive Board consists of the President, Secretary-Treasurer, Recording Secretary and Vice Presidents. The Board meets monthly to discuss union issues.

As a member of UFCW Local 248P, you are represented by a Local Union who assists you in bargaining and applying the Collective Agreement, as well as providing all necessary services to its membership.

UFCW represents more than 240,000 members across Canada and over 1.3 million members in North America. UFCW is one of the largest, most progressive and fastest growing Unions in the World. There are 33 UFCW Local Unions in Canada. You will find UFCW Canada members working in the retail, manufacturing, healthcare and service sectors. The largest component of our membership works at some level of the food industry – from the farm field to the table, UFCW Canada members are there. They work in food processing, including meat packing plants, breweries, warehouses, catering and snack food outlets and agricultural settings, as well as in supermarkets, bars and restaurants, just to name a few.


UFCW Local 248P fully support the Trade Union movement as a whole. Consequently, our organization is affiliated with a great number of labour organizations whose role is to promote and defend workers’ interests. UFCW Local 248P are affiliated with these organizations:
